~Easter 2014~

These 2 girls love coloring Easter eggs, I love that they love it...but it can be such a mess! :)
Halia chose to only use her hands for everything, I don't have a picture of her hands after, darn it, but they were very beautifully colored for a few days!
They always enjoy the Honeyville egg hunt, this year was so nice, it was very low key with a lot fewer people than normal.  Halia went and parked herself in the middle of the playground, right in the way of the slide and took her shoes off and ate ALL of her candy then and there. The kids trying to play just had to climb over the top of her because she would. not. move.! It was pretty funny, but again no picture. Quincy was there too. Quincy has been trying to climb the poles on our patio awning for as long as I can remember and this year she has finally had success! I wish her school had a really tall pole with a bell at the top like my elementary did when I was little, that was pretty fun, we could see the top of the school and we thought we were pretty cool if we could get all the way up!
Francis family Easter egg hunt!
The Easter Bunny hid their baskets and they got up and went straight to them with out hesitation....a little suspicious.... they were pretty happy with their books and candy!
Off to church to learn more about the true meaning of Easter!

McFarlane Easter egg hunt.  Always a joy to host this and see lots of my extended family, we missed all the ones that couldn't make it and hope to see them next year!

-MOAB-

We had such a FUN Spring Break! We decided to head down to Moab and Arches National Park. Tony hadn't been there since he was little and I had never been there.  It was a blast! We borrowed Granny Marsha's camp trailer and camped.  We got there and got all set up and went to see the "Hole n' the Rock".  They have a Petting Zoo there! Quincy was really excited and all about feeding the animals....well maybe not the Ostrich, it freaked her out a little. Halia wanted nothing to do with being close to or feeding the animals.

They have all sorts of fancy art made out of junk and random things:)
The next day we spent the whole day in Arches National Park.  Quincy got a camera right before we left....best thing ever! I love seeing the pictures she took! We stopped at Balanced Rock first.
Then we hiked to Delicate Arch.  So. Much. Fun.  Quincy was really into it.  At first she was a little whiny, but the harder it got the more fun she seemed to have! She really thought she was something else, it was really cute and fun to watch her.  We saw a lizard! They both thought that was pretty cool, a teenage boy saw us looking at it and came over and caught it, so they could touch it. So sweet!
There were tons of people everywhere, at the top.  We were all in awe, it's pretty amazing, these beautiful creations our Heavenly Father has given us!! The top right picture and bottom left picture are at the Windows.
Halia spent quite a bit of time in the backpack, it can be pretty exhausting getting a ride everywhere! ;)
After Delicate Arch, we were pretty hungry, so we stopped for a picnic.  It was a little cooler than we had hoped, but ended up being beautiful and perfect weather!
Then off to see Landscape Arch, this is one is getting pretty thin and close to coming down.  We ran into some people we know and a guide had told them another huge chunk had just come down in the last little while.
Then we ended the day at the Windows. This was really fun, there were not a lot of people around and lots of places to climb.  They both love climbing!  The picture on the left is Turret Arch.

Halia did a lot more walking around the Windows than any other area. She was really interested in her shadow, so interested she kept running into plants and fence posts, silly girl. It was a great day and Quincy is quite the little hiker and hiked about 7 miles this day and Halia about .5 mile.
The last day, we went back to Arches so they could turn in their Jr. Ranger books and get their badges.  They love those badges!
Then we went to explore some Moab trails.  We rented a Jeep, because Granny Marsha was going to come with us, and was not going to be able to hike, so we had planned on driving around in a Jeep one day so she could see some too, but she ended up very sick with pneumonia, so she had to stay home.  We missed her, hopefully she can go next time.  We went to Tusher Tunnel to start out the day.  Fun!! The girls loved it, pretty easy, short hike to get to it, and then you walk through the tunnel and there is lots of slot canyons on the other side, so the girls really liked that!
Had a snack, before we moved on...
Then we went to Hidden Canyon Overlook and then drove down through Hidden Canyon, while the girls napped.
Neither of us had ever been to Deadhorse Point State Park, so we decided to go see that. Completely Breathtaking I tell you!!  It was pretty windy, though.

On the way back, we took some off road trails and went to Gemini Bridges. Pretty cool place, but nerve racking with little kids, who we discovered have absolutely NO FEAR of heights or edges!
We were glad to get them back in the Jeep, then we headed into town and walked around.  It was a jamm packed trip, and was some much needed time spent as a family! Lots of beautiful nature in Moab!! This just might be a spring break tradition!

SPRING!

Spring finally came, kind of...
It came enough to lose the coats and transfer to jackets anyway!
These girls had been waiting to wear their dresses Grandma and Grandpa McFarlane got them in Hawaii. I love how they look on them, but I think they look a little too grown up in this picture...
We have been enjoying some fun walks as a family! We like to walk to the Honeyville pond and see if there are any ducks or geese around... I love this little family of mine!
 I also love Honeyville :)
Silly girls, it was getting a little cold on the way back and they were both a little tired, so they crammed in the stroller together...can time please slow down a little?

~Princess Ball~

The USU Gymnastics team did a fundraiser that was a Princess Ball. They dressed up like some of the princesses, had cake and punch, and a raffle. So Quincy and Tony got all dressed up and went with their best friends.
Quincy was so excited to go, she was beaming a huge smile and kept saying "I can't wait to see what princesses are there!" She was on cloud 9 when they got home and she got see all her favorites. These are just a few of the pictures the daddy's took on their phones.
She was so looking forward to dancing with her dad, but she ended up dancing with the princesses more then him, which he probably was actually really fine with.
They had a professional photographer there to take pictures of the girl's and their dates and whatever princess they wanted. This is mine and Quincy's favorite...these to get along better than any two little girl's I know. They are such cute friends!!
I could hardly wait for them to get home so I could hear all about it. She got a bag full of princess stuff from the raffle: a flashlight, some little wash cloths, a night light, a little note book and 2 little makeup bags. She was really pleased with her whole night and shared all her stuff with her little sister. I am so happy that they got to have such a fun memorable night!

**SNOW**

Tony has a passion for snowmobiling.  Well he took Quincy a couple times this year, and turns out she may have the same passion....she fell in love with it! Which makes her Daddy very proud, especially since it looks like Halia is not going to be much of a fan of snow....
They went with Tony's brother and his little girl. Quincy wanted to go fast all the time and was cheering and giggling all the while.
They had fun making snow angels and building snow caves too.
I love their relationship, she is such a mini Tony and she enjoys a lot of the same things he does!

We finally got around to making a snowman and he got too warm and tipped over the very next day!
Quincy is already talking about the huge one she is going to build next year....

Hardware Ranch

A few days after Christmas we drove up to Hardware Ranch to look at the elk. We got there just in time. We had to wait 45 minutes but the line doubled 5 minutes after we got in the line! The girls loved the horses pulling the trailer and loved looking at the elk. They had a really cute baby one, that still had spots, but never got in a good spot for a picture of it. The weather was perfect and not too cold, but the wind picked up and it was freezing as we were getting in the car! Perfectly timed day!!
